| Program   Objectives | Electrochemistry   and Electrochemical Engineering have played important roles in many   scientific and technologic fields. The research areas are centered, but not   limited, on energy, materials, sensors and nanotechnology. This program   provides an opportunity for students to systematically study the fundamentals   and practice of electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering as well as   the new frontiers and related areas. It aims to strengthen the students with   the capabilities of problem solving and independent researching in both   academies and industries in the future. |
| Requirements   of Research Ability and Other Aspects | Students   should be aware of developments in the research field and be able to read   research literature and write abstracts. Student should be familiar with the   commonly used experimental and characterization methods and can use these   methods in the research work. Students should have certain ability to design   experiment, observe, record and analyze experimental results, identify and   solve problems. Students should be capable of using computer to process   research data and doing literature search |
| Thesis   Work | The   dissertation should be written under the instruction of the supervisor. The   dissertation needs to build on the practical science experiment. The   dissertation should be completed independently and it should be written in   English with a detailed abstract written in Chinese. The supervisor has the   right to determine whether the student can enter the dissertation stage. |
